Rice Kheer

Rice kheer is a favourite Indian dessert, mainly made with rice, milk and sugar. Try this simple recipe at your kitchen.


  • 1 litre full fat milk
  • ½ cup rice(soaked for 30 minutes)
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 5 green cardamoms
  • 1 pinch saffron
  • ½ cup almonds (blanched and chopped)
  • 1 pinch saffron
  • 2 tbsp chopped cashews nut
  • 1 tbsp kishmish


  1. Heat a milk and boil it till make get half of quantity and become thiker.
  2. Reduce the flame and add the rice.
  3. Stir and simmer the milk and let the rice grain cook.
  4. Now add sugar (as per your taste).
  5. It will take about 25 to 30 minutes for whole cooking process.
  6. Continue to stir often so lumps are not form.
  7. Now slow the flame.
  8. Now add cardamom powder, saffron, chopped almond and kishmish.
  9. After adding all this ingredients cook further till the rice grain are completely cooked.
  10. Now rice kheer are ready you can serve it hot or warm.
